As women, we’re told we can have it all: the fulfilling career AND the family life we dream of.

But over and over again we’re presented with the money gaps between men and women. Taking a career break to start a family results in lower earnings over time, and even when women start working again, they face the ‘Motherhood Penalty,’ which affects their finances.

Women are not only still paid less than men, they are also retiring with £123,000 less in their pension pots than men on average (from research by Scottish Widows).

So planning early for a career break is more important than ever.
