How to Live a Meaningful Life: It's Easier Than You Think! with Bill Burnett

About this event

We’re often told that living a meaningful life requires a big breakthrough and it’s hard — requiring years of searching for your one true purpose. But what if it’s much simpler than that? What if meaning isn’t something you find, but something you design?  Meaning, joy, and flow aren’t reserved for a lucky few; they emerge whenever we start paying attention to what energizes us, when we stop overthinking and just try stuff, and when we allow ourselves to prototype our way to the life we deserve. In this talk, How to Live a Meaningful Life (It’s Easier Than You Think), we’ll explore how to apply designer's mindsets ( five of them actually) to your everyday life—so you can start building a life grounded in radical acceptance and availability - every day.

Bill Burnett is the co-founder, alongside Dave Evans, and executive director of the Life Design Lab at Stanford University, which teaches courses, delivers programs, and conducts research through applying the principles of Design Thinking to the problems of life, education, and work. In addition to adjunct teaching at Stanford, he advises several of his students’ startup companies. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Product Design at Stanford.
