As Conservative Party members prepare to vote for the UK's next Prime Minister, we are delighted to have Tim Shipman returning to Waverton for an exclusive online event.


Tim is Chief Political Commentator at The Sunday Times and a very informative and entertaining guest who will be discussing the downfall of Boris Johnson, the race to become PM and the immediate issues the victor will face as we build up to the next general election. Waverton Chief Investment Officer, Bill Dinning, will also be on hand to offer his latest outlook on the global investment environment.

    Bill is Chief Investment Officer at Waverton. He is also chairman of the Asset Allocation Committee and a member of the Management Committee. Bill was previously Head of Investment Strategy at Coal Pension Trustees, helping to run the £20 billion Coal Industry pension schemes. Prior to that he had the same job title at Kames Capital in Edinburgh. He began his career with investment bank PaineWebber and also worked for investment banks Merrill Lynch and UBS Warburg in a variety of research roles in London, New York and Hong Kong.

    Tim Shipman Chief Political Commentator at The Sunday Times

    Tim is chief political commentator at The Sunday Times after serving eight years as political editor. He has written two books — All Out War and Fall Out — on Brexit. Tim was named print journalist of the year by the London Press Club in 2017, and in 2018 he won both political reporter and political commentator of the year at the British Press Awards. He won political reporter of year for a second time in 2019.
