Dan Howitt is the CEO and co-founder of Recap, the UK focused crypto tax calculation platform. With over 10 years of experience in software development and involvement in crypto since 2013, Dan has witnessed multiple market cycles. In 2017, frustrated by the lack of tools to manage his own crypto tax obligations, he founded Recap to help investors easily discover their tax position, where Recap provides real-time tracking across all exchanges and wallets. Dan also member of HMRC’s Cryptoasset roundtable working group and serves as a policy advisor to Bitcoin Policy UK.
I am a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor. I trained with Grant Thornton and have worked in practice (predominantly specialising in tax) since completing my Business Studies degree in 1999. I have a broad knowledge and experience across all areas of tax.
Andy joined TaxCalc in 2021 as the Chief Marketing Officer from his previous role as publisher of AccountingWEB in both the UK and the US. He has spent over 20 years studying the accounting profession and appeared on too many podcasts and webinars to mention.
