A Contrarian Approach to Treating Low Back Pain: Using the Gluteus medius, the Quadratus lumborum, and the SI joint in the Treatment of Low Back Pain
Join Lhasa OMS as we host Whitfield Reaves, OMD, L.Ac. for his 3rd Free Lhasa OMS Webinar.
In this webinar, Whitfield Reaves will discuss what he calls the “triad” of low back pain. That is the gluteus medius, the quadratus lumborum, and the SI joint. These three structures are often involved in lumbo-sacral pain, as they play a significant role in stabilization of the spine and the pelvis. The gluteus medius and the quadratus lumborum, additionally, generate and refer pain throughout the low back, hip, and gluteal region. The practitioner may overlook these structures, and may find that taking an approach away from the Taiyang channel and using a more Shaoyang approach often rewards in the clinic.
