One Click LCA invites you to their event

Preserving and promoting nature in construction - How can developers prepare for Biodiversity Net Gain?

About this event

Biodiversity is firmly on the global construction industry's radar, and the UK is leading the way with the upcoming Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) mandate for developers in England, coming into effect in 2024. Voluntary disclosure policies such as the Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN) and Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) which address the embodied impacts throughout the value chain, are also emerging.

Join James Thornton, Biodiversity Product Owner at One Click LCA, for this upcoming discussion with Emily Cole, former DEFRA policy advisor, about the growing importance of biodiversity in the construction industry.

Emily was a key member of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) biodiversity net gain policy team, leading on the delivery of the statutory biodiversity metric for calculating gains in biodiversity. She is now completing a PhD focusing on the compatibility of climate change and biodiversity targets under future land use change.

Join the session to find out:

  • How Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) will encourage the shift to a proactive approach toward biodiversity
  • How developers should be preparing for the future of biodiversity impact assessment and reporting
  • How One Click LCA is supporting the industry with new biodiversity tools
