Olivier is a biochemical engineer who earned a PhD in viro-oncology from the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France in 2001. There, he developed approaches for the rapid detection of viral and tumor markers associated with liver cancer before joining the Toulouse Biotech Institute in 2007 to lead a task in a large collaborative program dedicated to the design of new alternative biofuels for jet aircraft. In 2010, Olivier co-initiated the design and the setup of the French pre-industrial demonstrator Toulouse White Biotechnology (TWB). TWB is an institute that aims to stimulate the bio-economy by facilitating public-private partnerships and providing innovative industrial bio-solutions. Today Olivier holds the position of CTO at TWB, he oversees and manages technology projects and leads the technical innovation of the demonstrator.
Maria Savino holds a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Paris V University, completed by a Master in Business Administration, ESCP-Madrid. She has been sales manager for biotechnology companies within an international scope for more than 15 years, and since she joined Beckman Coulter Life Sciences after the acquisition of Labcyte Inc. in 2019, she has occupied roles in marketing and business development. Today, by working with biofoundries and industrials in biomanufacturing, she’s focused on showing how Beckman Coulter Life Sciences solutions are essential parts of laboratory workflows.
