Environmental product footprinting, or Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) at scale, provides retailers with the granular data necessary to measure and manage Scope 3 emissions, whilst unlocking value propositions that can offset the cost of the Net Zero transition. One such proposition is the ability to accelerate Scope 3 decarbonisation through product innovation, in collaboration with suppliers.
Over the last 12 months, the BRC Mondra coalition has been developing the method and technology to harmonise environmental product footprinting for the UK Grocery sector, rolling out a system to enable collaborative decarbonisation through the supply chain.
