Drawing and Painting Pines (Online Art Workshop)

About this event

Beginners and experienced artists alike can celebrate the winter season by learning how to draw and paint pine trees and branches! In this online workshop, you can discover fundamental drawing skills, gain confidence in representing the natural world on paper, learn basic watercolor techniques, and pick up a few pro tips to help you capture the beauty and vividness of these enchanting evergreens. You can continue to explore pines in the upcoming related online workshop, How to Draw a Pine Cone, on February 18, 2023.

Suggested Materials List:

  • Drawing Pad/Paper 9”x 12” or larger
  • 2H pencil
  • 4B pencil
  • Watercolors or water-soluble graphite pencils assorted
  • 1 small pocket pencil sharpener
  • 1 kneaded eraser
  • 1 “pink pearl” or similar type eraser
  • Watercolor brushes
  • 3-4 small ceramic or glass jars for water and mixing washes (repurposed jam jars are excellent for this)
  • A piece of paper towel

Intended Audience: Adult All Levels: Suitable for all learners, this program will provide a variety of content. Program providers will answer both introductory and more advanced questions.
