SAVETCON invites you to their event

Dealing with Canine Aggression

About this event

Dealing with canine aggression

Aggression can be motivated by differing emotions and can take the form of many different behaviours. The webinar will provide an overview of this form of communication, its role and function in a social species and the concept of reactivity.

An important aspect of dealing with aggression in dogs is risk assessment and there are various factors that need to be considered for this including liability, risk to humans, risk to other animals, degree of danger and intensity of aggression. We will discuss these as well as how they impact the various types of canine aggression encountered by pet parents.

The webinar will also cover treatment of aggressive dogs with the emphasis on safety and changing the underlying motivation for the behaviour through the use of drug therapy, behavioural modification and environmental management.
