About this event
More information:
Electron microscopy (EM) is a powerful technique for studying human diseases, as it unveils sub-cellular ultrastructural details. These insights allow for a better understanding of disease mechanisms, which is crucial for the development of appropriate treatments. In this webinar, which is the first part of our webinar series on this subject, Dr. Gerry Shami (University of Sydney) will present his finding on volume EM imaging of hepatic parenchymal cells from patients with liver disease, combined with 3D segmentation of mitochondria. Additionally, Dr. Thomas Burgoyne (University College London) will shed light on important findings gained by EM of human airway epithelial cells infected with SARS-CoV-2. During the webinar, you can engage with our speakers through our Q&A chat and share your ideas.
