Affinisep invites you to their event

From detection to remediation: the role of passive sampling in monitoring brackish waters

About this event

Join us to learn more about the role of passive sampling in monitoring brackish waters, from detection to remediation.

🔍 What you’ll learn:

💧 Environmental context: presentation of the study area (Camargue) and specific dynamics of brackish waters (intrusion of fresh water and salt water, agriculture, seasonal variations).

💧 Methodology: choice of passive sampling (POCIS and DGT) and advantages over spot sampling for monitoring seasonal variability of pollutants.

💧 Key results: seasonal dynamics of more than 100 organic pollutants and several heavy metals, with a focus on agricultural and hydrological influences.

💧 Application and prospects: effectiveness of the Phragmites australis-based phytoremediation system and avenues for combining monitoring and remediation in brackish ecosystems.

First part presented by Louna MOLES, Technical Sales Engineer at Affinisep.

Second part presented by Davide Staedler, PhD, Titular Professor, University of Lausanne, Faculty of Biology and Medicine, Departement of Biomedical Sciences (DBS).

Animated by Dr. Michel AROTCARENA, Sales Support Director at Affinisep.
