Moody’s invites Airmic members to a briefing on the implications of the rapidly shifting U.S. policy landscape for Ireland. While the Irish economy has benefited significantly from its ability to attract foreign investment, this leaves the economy vulnerable to decisions made by a few large multinational firms. Tariff rates and tax policies enter these decisions. While the new U.S.-EU trade deal introduces some degree of certainty to transatlantic relations, significant uncertainties persist—ranging from the conditionalities attached to the deal itself to broader geopolitical and structural challenges. This session will delve into Ireland’s exposure to the tumultuous shift in U.S. policy amid intensifying geopolitical tensions. Our experts will unpack the short-term risks and provide insights into the longer-term structural vulnerabilities that Ireland faces. Participants will be armed with a strategy to monitor signs of exposure and resilience over the future.
