About this event
Green bonds were created in 2007 to fund projects that have positive environmental and/or climate benefits. The first issuer was the European Investment Bank (EIB).
France became the leading country for Green Finance since COP 21, and the Paris Climate Agreement. It is still the worldwide champion, with a total of €100bn issued in the first semester of 2020.
Since its kick-off in 2007, the green bond market has seen strong growth, especially in 2014 when USD37bn was issued. In 2018 issuance reached USD167.3bn, setting yet another record.
Issuers could either be large corporates or mid-cap SMEs, governments or local communities.
For the last 3 years, green bonds have opened the door to other types of bonds with positive impacts: sustainable bonds and social bonds.
What exactly is a green bond? Who are the key players in Paris Region and France? What link could be made between SMEs and green bonds? What are the potential benefits of green bonds?
Join us to get some answers and hear from our guest speaker, Beatrice de Montleau, CEO of BdM Conseil en RSE.
Our Q&A session will be a friendly forum to ask questions, share challenges and brainstorm solutions on client engagement-related issues. The event will be in English, free, and open to all!
We Look forward to seeing you!
