The Illinois State Medical Society, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Illinois Academy of Family Physicians invite you to attend this important event.
IDPH Chief Medical Officer Arti Barnes, MD, will share the latest information on currently available COVID-19 therapies, and specifically monoclonal antibodies. The webinar will cover the use and efficacy of this treatment, and will also provide instructions on how to order doses and how to refer patients to treatment. Dr. Barnes will also give an overview of two new oral therapies for COVID-19 that are expected to be available early in 2022. There will be time at the end of the webinar for questions.
About our Presenter:
Dr. Barnes joined IDPH as the Medical Director in 2021. Prior to that she was the Medical Director for the Departments of Infectious Diseases and Specialties at the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center in New Haven, CT, where she had also served as the Infection Prevention Officer. She has an M.P.H. with a focus in International Health and Humanitarian Aid from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Barnes has an extensive background in academia as clinical faculty at the Yale School of Medicine, UT Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has also served as the Clinical Director for the South Central AIDS Education and Training Centers (HRSA Region 6).
