About this event

Have you ever wondered why certain stories take off? How they spread across different media and platforms? And how they’re shaped by the people who are sharing them? 

As people spend increasingly more time online, the way they share ideas has changed. What starts on one platform, as say a reel or a tweet, might quickly grow and shapeshift as it’s shared across different places on the internet until, sometimes, the final version is nothing like the original story. 

And, before you know it, there’s a whole podcast series about it. 

If this happens to your brand, it can be good and bad. Good, if a positive narrative takes flight and builds you a cult following. Bad, if it turns into misinformation that can harm your reputation. In both scenarios, you need to be on top of the story to make sure it has a happy ending.

With nearly a decade of experience building and managing 3M's social listening program, Nichole excels at transforming data into meaningful narratives that help stakeholders understand key insights. Before joining 3M, Nichole taught college English, specializing in writing and literature. Her background in rhetorical analysis, storytelling, and research continues to inform her work today. Nichole holds an MA in English and a BA in Creative Writing and general English studies. She resides in St. Paul, MN, and enjoys gardening and reading, as well as fostering dogs and spending time with her own rescue pup, Olive.
