About this event
Join us for our independent analysis on the outcomes from the Green Climate Fund’s 40th Meeting of the Board (B.40), which took place this past October 2024. Tailored for Nationally Designated Authorities (NDAs), GCF Accredited Entities, consultants, project developers, and other GCF stakeholders, this session will provide essential insights into GCF’s latest strategies and funding priorities—timely knowledge as we prepare for COP29, the ‘Finance COP’.
Dr Grant Ballard-Tremeer will be discussing the developments of the 40th Meeting of the Green Climate Fund board (B.40) which he attended recently in Songdo, South Korea. Grant will be joined by Consultant, Ellie La Trobe-Hogan who will be discussing our recent 27th GCF insight report - Capacity to access climate finance. This report builds on our recent stakeholder survey exploring individual capacity to access climate finance. It also relates directly to the extensive work we do through our training and capacity building arm, E Co. institute.
GCF’s recent approvals include 16 projects totalling USD 1.01 billion, supported by over USD2.8 billion in co-financing. These include a mix of single-country and regional projects, with first-time collaborations in Angola, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and Somalia. This funding focuses on country-specific priorities, providing critical opportunities for Accredited Entities and consultants to support national and regional initiatives aligned with GCF’s 2024–2027 Updated Strategic Plan.
We believe your participation will contribute significantly to our collective efforts in advancing climate action and ensuring the success of sustainable projects. There are several opportunities to participate as we go along to ensure we make the most of this focused time. You can make all of your comments in our chat section, directed to the presenters or fellow participants, and we'll address them as we go along.
You also have the opportunity to understand the views of fellow participants in our polls - where answers will be shared anonymously and discussed with the live audience.
Are you involved in climate finance, climate change, or development? If so, we invite you to make a coffee and join us for this lively session. We break down complex terminology to address the core issues, offering in-depth analysis from independent experts in climate finance and development.
This webinar offers actionable insights to help GCF stakeholders, project developers, and Accredited Entities stay ahead in the climate finance landscape. Prepare to leverage GCF’s latest funding and policy shifts, deepen your engagement strategies, and align with the objectives of the upcoming COP29 'Finance COP'.
