About this event
Welcome to Season 2 of The State of Craft!
We’ve been hosting The State of Craft for over a year now, and heard from many people in the industry about what’s going well for them and what some of the challenges are that are holding them and the industry at large back.
But a lot can happen over the course of a year, especially in a world as new as legal cannabis. We know a lot of the problems faced, but there’s also so many amazing things happening - from incredible quality of cannabis, to new methods of production, to clever business initiatives. And they’re worth getting enthusiastic about!
In Season 2, we’re going to celebrate the triumphs, find out what our guests are doing to thrive, and look ahead to the exciting changes the future will bring.
Our very first guest on the show last year was Kieley Beaudry, co-founder and CEO of Parkland Flower, Alberta's 9th micro licence holder and the first to sell directly to the Province of Alberta. She’s been a strong force in the craft cannabis space for quite some time, and we’re always thrilled to hear what she has to share!
What has Parkland Flower been up to, and what are they excited about for the future? Come get excited with us about the future of the legal craft cannabis on the next State of Craft!
For the first episode of season 2, CertiCraft presents:
Kieley Beaudry, Co-Founder & CEO of Parkland Flower
Kieley has consumed cannabis for 28 years and entered the medical cannabis space in 2012 via a family member where she began making various products to treat their cancer. She entered the legal space in 2017 and began the plans to build a micro-cultivation. She, along with her business partner and Master Grower Dustan McLean, co-founded Parkland Flower, Alberta’s 9th micro licence holder and 1st to sell directly to the province of Alberta. Together they were growing cannabis and making products for medical patients up until licensing. She then founded the Alberta Cannabis Micro Licence Association, where she is a fierce advocate for small producers. Parkland Flower focuses on breeding cannabis seeds for home growers and medical patients and runs boutique breeding programs for other LPs.

The State of Craft is a webinar series focused on the legal craft cannabis industry.
The rollout of cannabis legalization in Canada has been full of ups and downs. The craft cannabis industry in particular has been immensely affected by a myriad of challenges and missteps in the years following the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations.
In The State of Craft, Sami Majadla, CEO of CertiCraft, facilitates conversations with leaders in the legal craft cannabis industry to explore what is going well and what is going not-so-well. We'll discuss what can realistically be changed at different levels of government and industry alike to address major issues the craft cannabis sector is facing, and hopefully inspire stimulating ideas of all sorts. Every episode will end with a 15 min live Q&A with our audience.
