About this event
With World Youth Skills Day just around the corner (Saturday 15 July), what better time to shine a spotlight on this incredible social value initiative from Chapter One.
The Online Reading Volunteer programme connects schools with corporate volunteers to provide 30-minutes of one-to-one reading support for underprivileged children each week.
‘Ages five to seven are pivotal in a child’s development,’ says Sarah Taylor from Chapter One. ‘If you can encourage a child to enjoy reading at this age, you can help increase their lifetime earning potential by £57,500.’
That’s an exciting statistic, but not the whole story. This prompts further debate around the real impact of social value activity.
Join Copper’s first 'Social Value Spotlight On' lunchtime webinar, as we ask experts from National Highways, Sir Robert McAlpine, Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick and GRAHAM, to capture the real value of social impact, must we start to look beyond the metrics?
Sign up to our webinar and join the conversation on how we can make the most of the promising new projects being delivered across our regions.
