Efficient, simple and inexpensive, granular filtration is the most widely used treatment method for drinking water. Even today, it is still a key stage in water treatment, for which few innovative solutions have been explored. The filtration step removes suspended solids, color and microorganisms and it can be optimized with the replacement of traditional granular media by Filtralite® products. Hence, operating costs (energy, chemicals, water losses generated) will be reduced and / or quality of filtered water will be improved.
