CALGreen: Everything Architects and Developers Need to Know About the New Embodied Carbon Requirements

About this event

Will Your Projects Need to Comply with CALGreen Regulations in 2024?

CALGreen is the first-in-the-nation mandatory green building standards code and new requirements go into effect July 1, 2024. They will apply to new construction, adaptive reuse, or remodeling of non-residential buildings over 100,000 sq. ft. or schools over 50,000 sq. ft.

Join us for a Live Discussion with One Click LCA's Spencer Jarrett and guest experts Webly Bowles and Amie Lewis of the New Buildings Institute to learn more about what these regulations mean for architects and designers in California, and how you can be ready for compliance.

Tuesday, December 12th | 10am PT/1pm ET

Webly Bowles is Associate Director of Codes and Policy at the New Buildings Institute (NBI). With 20 years of experience in architecture, sustainable building design, advocacy, and code development, Webly heads NBI’s carbon lifecycle research, develops policy strategies to support a carbon neutral future, and played a key role in the creation of the new CALGreen standards.

Amie Lewis is Senior Project Manager in Codes and Policy at New Buildings Institute. Amie weaves together environmental building standards development and implementation with systems thinking, behavioral science, and data analysis. She believes mandatory codes, standards, and policies are crucial to any successful climate action plan, from the local to the global scale.

Spencer Jarrett is an LCA expert at One Click LCA. He provides guidance to architects, engineers, and developers looking to lower their carbon impact and successfully comply with regulations like CALGreen.
