About this event
Lung diseases affect one in five people and are the third highest cause of death in England. Hospital admissions for lung diseases have risen over the past seven years at three times the rate of general admissions. Add to this the economic cost - asthma and COPD is estimated at £3bn and £1.9bn respectively, and with the total cost of all lung conditions (including lung cancer) to the NHS in the UK calculated at £11bn annually - and the extent of the challenge is clear.
The NHS Long Term Plan sets out respiratory disease as a clinical priority. It describes how investment will be targeted to improve treatment and transform care.
How should companies who provide products and technologies in respiratory care respond to the increasing burden of respiratory disease and the demands that it makes on NHS providers?
In this FREE 60-minute live NHS Update, Shailen Rao, Founder and Managing Director of Soar Beyond and Darush Attar, Respiratory Lead Pharmacist of NWL Asthma Network and NHS RightBreathe will examine and explain how respiratory care is provided, its challenges and opportunities.
