GTI invites you to their event

Early Careers - the inclusion, wellbeing and retention challenge

About this event

At one time, the lure of a decent salary was enough to make school-leavers and graduates snap up most job offers. Not anymore. Pay still matters, but if it doesn’t come as part of a wider employment package that includes employee wellbeing supports, work-life balance initiatives, career progression opportunities and alignment with personal values, then Gen Z talent will choose to work somewhere where it does.

In this masterclass, we will explore this new reality and how the rising importance of inclusion and wellbeing elements is impacting early careers talent strategies. In addition, we will explore similar trends in the retention of this critical talent pool which remains a challenge.

Session 1 – Market Trends

What should we be thinking about when considering enhancements or changes to early careers programmes in Ireland? Following recent research, Aon will share insights on: Macroeconomic impacts on early careers, Early careers programme challenges, Winning the race for early careers talent and Gen Z workforce expectations

Session 2 - Inclusion and Wellbeing

What does it mean to embed a culture of inclusion and wellbeing? Aon will explore what steps organisations are taking to drive meaningful change. Although the ‘why’ of this change is well accepted, not least due to the continued rise in focus on inclusion and mental health, the ‘how’ of change is more difficult. Aon will share insights on how to build for an inclusive early careers strategy, including steps Aon has taken to build resilience in their own early careers talent.

Session 3 - Retention

Despite the time and financial investment put into early careers talent, retention still remains the leading challenge for employers. Gen Z have increased expectations on career path options and development opportunities which will be further fuelled by upcoming pay transparency legislation. Aon will share what organisations are doing to prepare and ensure maximum retention and engagement of this critical talent pipeline.
