Johann Els Chief Economist @ Old Mutual Investment GroupG
Johann is the Chief Economist at Old Mutual Investment Group, responsible for all areas of macro-economic research. His role includes analysis of the global economy, especially where it impacts the SA Economy, with a focus mainly on the US, Europe and China regions. Apart from general research on the SA Economy, his specific focus areas locally include the rand, inflation, interest rates and national fiscal matters. His research aims predominantly to analyse the economic impact on the different asset classes that influence investment decision-making. He holds a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Stellenbosch.
