How to address accessibility, inclusion and engagement in online courses with indigenous languages in Africa - key tips from Kenya Methodist University, Quality Matters and ReadSpeaker

Join our webinar where Paul, Jarno, Jim, Jenu, and Daniel will discuss how to create accessible and engaging content for all users.

We will:

  • learn how to create learning content that is accessible and engaging from conception
  • show how to integrate Universal Design for Learning concepts while designing courses, including for assessments and STEM content
  • show how text to speech technology converts written text into natural-sounding speech, providing an easy- to-integrate, easy-to-use way for users to engage with content
  • discuss use cases from Kenya Methodist University as well as Quality Matters and share best practices and implementation strategies 
  • introduce TTS voices for regional languages such as IsiZulu, IsiXhosa, Xitsonga, Setswana, Tshivenda, Sesotho, Siswati, Sepedi, IsiNdebele, and Afrikaans, as well as South African English
  • demonstrate our text to speech tools and our LMS integrations (Moodle, D2L, aNewSpring, etc)
  • open the floor to a Q&A session with a member of our technical team present
