Think a time would ever come when we can have a cannabis themed hotel?
Well, as it turns out, that time is now!
Serena Donovan, who is the owner and operator of Because You Cann, a licensed micro cultivation facility in Alberta, has now created the MaryJane Manor, the first cannabis boutique hotel in Canada. MaryJane Manor is a 15 bedroom, 17 bathroom fully renovated hotel that offers an Air BnB style booking for private, adult only, group bookings.
The Manor sleeps 15-55 people, ideal for retreats, team building, bud tender events, brand launches, new strain releases and corporate events. The private booking allows for guests to enjoy the indoor consumption lounge and outdoor consumption spaces. The rooms at MaryJane Manor are terpene themed, focusing on education and health & wellness.

Serena is the CEO and Sole Owner of Because You Cann Inc., the 2nd Health Canada licensed Micro Cultivation facility in Alberta and 25th in Canada. She and her husband are proud farmers in Mossleigh, Alberta. They have five children between the two to them and five grandchildren. Serena became intrigued with cannabis after seeing the positive properties the cannabis plant had in her life as a medical patient. She decided her love for the plant could also be a way to diversify the farm. Her daughters have remained in rural Alberta to “grow” with her and she is pleased to offer employment to local residents in the area. The goal has been and continues to be, to empower women and their cannabis use, free of judgement and ending the negative stigma.

The State of Craft is a webinar series focused on the legal craft cannabis industry.
