Valeria Cortez Vaca Diez is a Senior Data Scientist in the borrowing team at Monzo. Her work focuses on building credit models and analysis to provide the best borrowing options to customers. Previously, she worked on the development of Machine Learning solutions for different business areas of Lloyds Banking Group and their customers. Valeria is a strong advocate of ethics and responsibility in AI as well as bringing more diversity into tech teams.

Monzo Bank, is an online bank based in the United Kingdom. Monzo was one of the earliest of a number of new app-based challenger banks in the UK. In October 2018, Monzo reached one million customers, and was also named the best tech startup to work for by LinkedIn UK.
