About this event

The State of Craft is a bi-weekly live conversation discussing the state of the legal craft cannabis industry presented by CertiCraft

Can cannabis growing be a sustainable practice?

According to Stewart Farms, absolutely! This week on the State of Craft, we are joined by three growers who believe in using aquaponics to allow for sustainable and organic farming practices.

Aquaponics uses fish in a closed-loop cycle where fish uhh... 'droppings'... go through the water to the plant roots and feed plants a healthy and natural fertilizer. The water then gets cleaned by the plants and pumped back to the fish. The cycle continues over and over, needing no pesticides and uses up to 90% less water than traditional farming.

And what do Stewart Farms make with their healthy organic cannabis plants? Bath bombs! Yes you read it right! Soak in your tub and relax with cannabis infused bath bombs, which are quickly growing in popularity!

Stewart Farms has a lot to be excited about for the future, and we're excited to host CEO Tanner Stewart, Director of Cultivation Genevieve Newton, and Product Development Director Catrina Jackson to learn more about how they use innovative technologies to create sustainable farming practices you're sure to get excited about!

Join us for Episode 26 of the State of Craft!

What is The State of Craft?

The State of Craft is a webinar series focused on the legal craft cannabis industry.

The rollout of cannabis legalization in Canada has been full of ups and downs. The craft cannabis industry in particular has been immensely affected by a myriad of challenges and missteps in the years following the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations.

In The State of Craft, Sami Majadla, CEO of CertiCraft, facilitates conversations with leaders in the legal craft cannabis industry to explore what is going well and what is going not-so-well. We'll discuss what can realistically be changed at different levels of government and industry alike to address major issues the craft cannabis sector is facing, and hopefully inspire stimulating ideas of all sorts. Every episode will end with a 15 min live Q&A with our audience.
