About this event
Join us for an expert-led webinar exploring how surface finish choices can influence PCB cost, performance, reliability, and long-term manufacturability.
Discover the real cost drivers behind PCB surface finishes and learn how to make smarter specification decisions from the early design stage:
🔹 Understand the role of surface finishes in PCB reliability, solderability, shelf life, and final product performance.
💰 Explore how different finishes can impact overall PCB cost and how minor changes in the assembly flow can enable major cost reductions on the surface finish. Learn why certain PCB technologies limits the surface treatment choice.
⚙️ Learn how application requirements, component type, assembly process, and storage conditions influence surface finish selection.
📐 Discover how design choices and technical specifications can create unnecessary cost increases if they are not aligned with the final application.
🧩 Compare common surface finish options and understand where each one makes sense depending on performance, budget, and production needs.
💡 Gain practical insights to help buyers and engineers make better decisions, avoid over-specification, and optimize PCB sourcing.
This webinar gives you a clear, practical overview of how surface finish selection affects both technical performance and project cost, helping you choose the right finish for the right application.

Erik started in the PCB industry in 1989. Starting as a trainee on the production floor, advancing to quality/test and to the pre-production engineering has given him a unique understanding of each production step, combined with theoretical engineering knowledge. This has been the foundation he has used during the years, to be more than just a salesman. For the last 9 years, he has been working as FAE, before he joined ICAPE Group, where he acts as a FAE & Quality Director.
ICAPE Group is a company that provides access to a network of PCB and technical parts manufacturers with optimized costs, expert engineering advice, short lead times, and sustainable processes.
