CertiCraft invites you to their event

The State of Craft - Episode 13, Featuring the Craft Cannabis Association of BC

About this event

The State of Craft is a bi-weekly live conversation discussing the state of the legal craft cannabis industry presented by CertiCraft

No matter which side of the industry you're on, almost everyone can agree that the craft cannabis industry has gotten the short end of legalization.

In a fractious market with many barriers to entry and distribution of product, it is vital that the craft industry bands together and speaks, not as individuals, but as a collective community. Legalization was built on the backs of small producers and processors who were dedicated to their processes and proud of their products. That's why the Craft Cannabis Association of BC (CCABC) exists, to support the good work started by our cannabis pioneers and to ensure that smaller facilities aren't excluded from the new regulated market.

CertiCraft is excited to be joined by two of the founding directors of the CCABC and powerful women at the forefront of the cannabis industry, Sarah Campbell and Teresa Taylor! They have built a network of growers, retailers, decision makers and consumers who want to ensure access to quality locally grown craft cannabis. the CCABC also creates resources to support and promote the craft cannabis industry in British Columbia.

With direct insight into the heart of craft cannabis producers and their needs, Sarah and Teresa will share what they see as craft cannabis wins in the legal market, some of the hard lessons they've learned, and what we can do to make our industry better. They will also be answering your questions LIVE! Information is power, and taking these opportunities to benefit from the experience of those who have blazed the trail is essential to our success in the future.

The CCABC stand firm in the belief that craft cannabis is good product quality, our communities, our economy, and for the sustainability of the cannabis industry as a whole. CertiCraft is proud to share the stage with them.

For Episode 13, CertiCraft is proud to be joined by:

Sarah Campbell, Founding Director CCABC

Sarah Campbell works at Great Gardener Farms and is a founding Director of the Craft Cannabis Association of BC

Sarah joined the cannabis movement in 1998 and had a front row seat during three landmark court cases involving friends and loved ones. She spent several years making cannabis edibles and managing House of the Great Gardener, an International award-winning seed company.

In 2016, she co-founded the Craft Cannabis Association of BC, a non-profit industry association created to support and promote small scale independent businesses.

Sarah is currently a proud team member at Great Gardener Farms, a newly licensed micro cultivator in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.

Teresa Taylor, Founding Director CCABC

A lover of independence, Teresa is inspired by the passion of the entrepreneurial spirit.

With an almost 30-year history in the movement, Teresa attended Canada’s first Hempfest with her father, cannabis activist and politician Brian Taylor, and later represented the country’s first licensed commercial hemp display at the PNE. Teresa is a previously licensed medical grower, legacy retailer, and four-time political candidate.

As graphic designer and marketing consultant by trade, she has served legacy crafters to new-era start-ups. Teresa also holds a Bachelor of Social Work from UBC with graduate study in ethnobiology and continues to work in non-profit community service.

We'll discuss what can realistically be changed at different levels of government and industry alike to address major issues the craft cannabis sector is facing, and hopefully inspire stimulating ideas of all sorts.
