Hydroxy-Selenomethionine: No compromise to ensure livestock performance under heat stress

About this event

Cattle are subject to a variety of physiological, sanitary, environmental (e.g. heat stress), technological and nutritional stresses. These stresses increase free radical production (ROS), resulting in oxidative stress which could have a negative impact on dairy cows when it occurs during critical physiological periods as transition period, at calving or during the peak of lactation. This in turn leads to negative impact on overall milk production, growth & reproductive performance, leading at end to significant direct and indirect economic losses in commercial dairy production.

Thus, to counteract the effects of ROS, the diet should be optimized with an efficient antioxidant supplementation rich with a stable Selenium in rumen to ensure its bioavailability in blood, milk & colostrum.

Thanks to the innovative technology of Selisseo®, the only pure hydroxy-selenomethionine available (100% OH-SeMet) in the market, proven to achieve a high stability & bioavailability in ruminants supplying the same amount of OH-SeMet batch after batch with safe & easy usage due to the fact of having a consistent particular size without fines. Thus, no compromise on any of Selisseo® features to help ruminants reach their full potential during stressful conditions.

The webinar will help you to identify the key points to control for effective management of different types of stressful conditions affecting dairy & beef cattle production specifically heat stress as well as presenting the trails’ results on efficacy of different types of Selenium commonly used.
