Experienced techno-business leader with 20+ years in IT, Trade & Logistics, Telecom, and Banking. Expertise includes Product Direction, Project Management & Chief Architecture roles. Over the past 13 years, Solomon has spearheaded mission-critical Trade Facilitation systems in 15+ countries across Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Americas.
Solomon possesses in-depth knowledge of Trade & Logistics, Supply Chain Processes, Compliance, and Regulatory procedures. Experienced in Cross Border Trade, Supply Chain Risk Management, Customs policies, National Trade policies, and Free Trade Agreements.
Currently, he serves as Senior Product Director and Chief Architect of the Trade Facilitation Platform (TFP), a flagship product deployed in over 20 countries. Solomon actively leads technology initiatives like Blockchain, Internet of Logistics, AI/ML, and Robotic Process Automation for TFP, while also charting the company's technology roadmap.
His expertise includes managing large-scale Trade Product portfolios, complex system implementations, and delivering mission-critical systems. Solomon excels in business consulting, process re-engineering, technical leadership, and senior-level customer & stakeholder management.
Ninan Oommen Biju, Sr Port & Maritime Transport Specialist, The World Bank - Transport Global Practice
Ninan Oommen Biju is the Senior Port & Maritime Transport Specialist at The World Bank Transport Practice based in Singapore, engaged in the preparation and supervision of projects, sharing of knowledge and experience and technical assistance for maritime infrastructure development. Prior to joining The World Bank, Ninan was the CEO of a short-sea container ship owner and operated services in consortium with global container shipping lines from Singapore hub port to the main gateway ports in South-East Asia & South Asia. In his previous role based in Dubai-UAE, Ninan operated container feeder services and established connectivity in the West Asia Arabian Gulf & South Asia region. Ninan is a postgraduate in Business Administration from Madras Christian College, India and holds a master’s degree in Maritime Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Mark Assaf, Chief, Human Resources Development Section - TRAINFORTRADE Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics – United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
Mr. Mark Assaf is the Chief of the Human Resources Development Section– TRAINFORTRADE at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a Master’s in Economics from the Free University of Brussels (Belgium).
Mr. Assaf has over 22 years of experience in International Institutions and private-sector multinationals. He oversees major programmes in the field of International Trade Statistics, E-Commerce and Port Management to support sustainable economic development.
Mr. Assaf believes in building sustainable networks of knowledge to enhance national ownership and international cooperation as per SDG 17. He is a strong promoter of digital solutions and innovative thinking to enhance capacities of international trade players. He dedicates his efforts to support development-oriented trade policy to reduce poverty and to promote transparency and good practices within UN member states.
Gregory Smith, Head of Exploration and Digital Transformation at UNDP Trinidad and Tobago
Gregory Smith is the Head of Exploration, and also the Digital Transformation Leader for the UNDP in Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao, St Maarten, Guyana and Suriname. He previously worked as a senior organizational strategist and manager with over 10 years’ international experience in financial analysis for mergers and acquisitions, e-commerce product management, IT systems implementation, strategic planning, and market analysis. Gregory holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA from Howard University, and a MPP in Public Policy Analysis and Economics from the University of Chicago. He is passionate about working collaboratively and applying a rigorous analytical approach towards developing sustainable, courageous, innovative solutions that directly improve the lives of everyday people.
John Outridge, Chief Executive Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago International Finance Centre
John is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago International Finance Centre and is responsible for leading the company as it executes its mandate of driving digital financial services adoption across all sectors so Trinidad & Tobago can become a premier location for FinTech-enabled services and maintain its position as the Financial Hub of the region.
He has over 10 years of senior management experience and has worked for firms such as EY, and Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC). He has supported both public and private sector institutions with strategic guidance, fintech strategies as well as the modernisation of public financial management systems for various Governments throughout the region.
During his career, Mr. Outridge has amassed a wealth of expertise and experience in the areas such as -but not limited to – Digital Transformation, Payment Systems & Electronic Funds Transfer Implementation, and Strategy and Digital Operating Model Design for state enterprises and financial services organisations.
