Port Technology International invites you to their event

Navigate the New Path to Terminal Automation: Insights and Strategies

About this event

Presented by FERNRIDE in partnership with Port Technology International.

Description

How can container terminal operators stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry? The key lies in balancing efficiency with 24/7 operations while remaining costs low. Automated systems are the crucial piece of the puzzle, enabling operators to streamline container handling with precision and reliability at the scale required to meet growing trade volumes. Along with this shift, improved data visibility is seeing terminals make data-driven decisions to increase their ability to adapt to market demand and strengthen their market position over the long term.

FERNRIDE has conducted an extensive survey on terminal automation, and this webinar is where we delve into the revealing insights, such as:

  • The majority (67%) ranked the level of automation in their terminals as ‘Low to Moderate' but the overall sentiment was clearly toward increasing implementation. What are the best practices?
  • 62% of respondents cited the high initial cost of technologies as the main barrier to implementing automation solutions. Executive-level respondents ranked resistance from the workforce as their second highest concern along with a lack of skilled workers versed in new technologies. What strategies can be used to overcome these challenges?

Join our expert panel, featuring industry leaders Oliver Risse, Investment Partner at HHLA Next, Peter Szelei, Senior Director Business Development at FFERNRIDE and Zack Lu, Senior Project Manager and Principal Consultant at Portwise. The speakers delve into the current state challenges, and prospects of port automation. We discuss the influence of geographical location, explore the advantages that terminal operators are already gaining through automation and learn how operators can maximise the benefits of automation in the near-term.

In this webinar, get insights from the FERNRIDE’s recent survey on container terminal automation and dive deep into the strategies for creating future-poof operations with autonomous technology. Learn more about how the application of human-assisted autonomy is removing barriers to transformation in container terminals with insights from the last 12 months of live operations.
