One Health: an anchor for sustainable livestock production
To mark the 2026 International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and its September theme, “Benefits to society,” PREZODE’s webinar will explore how sustainable rangeland and livestock systems deliver interconnected benefits: supporting pastoral livelihoods and food security, maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem services, strengthening climate resilience, and helping prevent zoonotic disease emergence at source.
Speakers will include Dr Igshaan Samuels, rangeland ecology and pastoralism researcher at the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa and IYRP Global Coordinating Group co-chair; Ms. Munguntsetseg Tsend-Ayush, AVSF project manager specialising in herder organisations, One Health and climate resilience; Dr. Chris Bartels, AVSF Country Representative in Mongolia and animal-health specialist; and Dr. Farah Isse Mumin, One Health researcher, University of Liverpool, UK & Somalia
