Consumers are waking up to the differences between latency and connection speed – forcing ISPs to pay attention to the issue, as first in the firing line if latency reaches unacceptable levels. What kind of tools are operators and streaming services implementing to guarantee low-latency? While low-latency discussions tend to focus on the transport protocol layer – SRT, RIST, Zixi, etc. – we will try to look at the bigger picture, from CPE, to last mile networks, and maybe even a smattering of 5G.
