About this event
If you work in retrofit, renovation, property management, or advise on property purchase etc. then this webinar is for you. It covers the newly published work from the Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance (STBA) on moisture properties of insulation materials and their applicability to traditional construction. We are delighted to welcome guest speakers, Michael Netter (STBA) and Dr Valentina Marincioni (UKCMB).
The session will explore the publication and provide a useful synopsis, including why the study was commissioned, how it can be used, and the collaborative peer-review process that has shaped its findings. Attendees will also gain insight into the next steps for research and practice in this area.
Join us to explore this latest research and gain a clearer understanding of how moisture interacts with insulation in traditional buildings — knowledge that is especially vital at a time when retrofitting is becoming increasingly prevalent across the sector.
Hosted by
Dr Valentina Marincioni is Technical Director at the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings and a Lecturer in Building Physics at University College London. She is an expert in building physics and moisture in buildings, with a particular focus on internal wall insulation. Her research focuses on the integration of building physics, predictive modelling and monitoring for the reduction of moisture-related issues in buildings
Michael Netter is the Director at the Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance (STBA). He is a built environment professional with a range of experience across the heritage and sustainability sectors, including construction project management, professional accreditation bodies, research and voluntary organisations.
