Stephen Smith – Kitman Labs, Founder
Stephen holds a Higher Diploma in Human Physiology and Health Science, a BSc (Hons) in Sports & Exercise Rehabilitation and an MSc in Football Rehabilitation. He worked with Leinster Rugby as a Sports Injury Rehabilitation Coach within the Strength & Conditioning Department between 2008-2014. Stephen founded Kitman Labs in 2012 and now lives in Palo Alto, CA where he focuses on expanding Kitman Labs in elite US sports. His areas of expertise include injury prevention, rehabilitation and analytics and he has a strong interest in the use of technology and emerging trends in sport science to further enhance sport science and medicine.
Justin Bokmeyer – General Manager, MLS Next
Bokmeyer is responsible for managing and executing all MLS NEXT programs to improve and elevate the quality of competition, talent identification, education, compliance, and club membership. As general manager, he oversees all MLS NEXT full-time employees and consultants, while also collaborating with staff at Major League Soccer and MLS NEXT members.
Carrie Rubertino Shearer – Associate AD of Athletic Medicine, Baylor University Athletics
Carrie Rubertino Shearer joined the Baylor Athletic Medicine staff in March 2018 to serve as the Director of Rehabilitation Services. In June of 2019 she was promoted to Assistant AD for Athletic Medicine while also continuing oversite of physical therapy for the Baylor Student-Athletes. In June of 2021, Rubertino Shearer was promoted to Associate AD for Athletic Medicine. In this role she is responsible for oversseing the medical care for all of Baylor's student-athletes.
Jeff Ferguson - Vice President of Player Health and Performance
Jeff Ferguson currently serves as the Vice President of Player Health and Performance and Head Athletic Trainer for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to his time with the Jaguars, he spent 13 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, one year as the Vice president of player health and safety for the XFL and, most recently, served as the CEO of WellStrong, a medical services management company, from 2020-21.
