Eric Foote is the Founder and CEO of VIG Sports, a recently launched advisory firm devoted to the growing sector of sports betting and media. Foote's clients include leagues, teams, media, investors, technology firms, and more.
Prior to launching VIG, Eric served as PointsBet’s Chief Strategy Officer, where he was instrumental in the recent sale of the US operations to Fanatics. Prior to the pending acquisition, Foote was responsible for building company strategy and transforming the organization to enable scalability across the U.S. and Canada. Eric maintained a focus on company profitability and was tasked with establishing a company-wide strategic direction that also translated locally per the needs of PointsBet’s global units. This included annual strategic planning processes for the global business, as well as communication with the PointsBet Board of Directors & investor-facing communities. Foote and his strategy team explored organic growth opportunities involving multi-jurisdictional organizations to drive business improvement initiatives, including but not limited to international expansion.
Foote originally joined PointsBet as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer in January 2020, overseeing strategic partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, trading & sports analytics, business intelligence, and assisted with securing the company’s market access portfolio.
Before PointsBet, Eric was Vice President of Gaming for CBS Sports, responsible for leading CBS Sports’ strategy and entry into sports betting architecting the relationship with Caesar's.
Following an initial run at CBS Sports as Senior Director of Business Development , Eric was named Vice President of Business Development for Silver Chalice Ventures, now Sinclair Broadcast Group (Stadium), where he spearheaded all business development and strategy initiatives, including opening a Boulder, Colorado office. His career began as an Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs at Pepperdine University where he oversaw corporate sponsorship, fundraising, media relations, and community relations efforts for the Waves.
Foote is a native of Iowa and currently resides in Maui with his wife Maggie, and their two children, Cash and Falcon.. He attended Wartburg College where he attained a B.S. in business administration and was the captain of the Knights basketball team. He received his Master’s in sports administration from Western Illinois University.
Chris Grove is an early-stage investor, multi-exit founder, and strategist focused on the U.S. sports betting and online gambling sectors. He is a nationally recognized subject matter expert whose insights are regularly trusted by analysts, media outlets, publicly-traded companies, and policymakers.
His work has been cited by outlets including Bloomberg, ESPN, Forbes, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal. Grove has testified before lawmakers in multiple states, including California, Illinois, New York, Nevada, Texas, and Washington State.
Grove is a Co-Founding Partner at the VC fund Acies Investments, Co-Founding Partner at EKG Ventures, an Operating Advisor at Arctos Sports Partners, a Tech Stars Mentor, an angel investor, and a public company board member. Prior to his current roles, Grove founded the sports betting practice at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, where he remains a Partner Emeritus.
As Vice President of Gaming, Scott Warfield oversees the PGA TOUR’s strategic approach to sports betting which includes a multi-pronged approach to the space including everything from integrity and responsible gaming to data, content and commercial initiatives.
Prior to the PGA TOUR, Warfield led NASCAR’s growth initiatives division and was responsible for leveraging esports and sports betting, among other disciplines, to further engage the core fan as well as attract new fans to the sport. Before his time in the world of gaming, Warfield spent a decade and a half leading teams of professionals across integrated communications, digital media and social marketing.
Warfield received a B.A. in Journalism / Media and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A North Carolinian at heart, Warfield currently resides in Jacksonville Beach, Florida with his wife and two daughters.
