KPIs, or key performance indicators, provide targets to strive for, along with a way to measure performance over time. Learn how two northwest districts, Quincy and Coeur d’Alene, are using KPIs to gain insights, gauge progress, and make better decisions. Practical tips and ideas for implementation will be shared, as well as lessons learned.

    Mike Nelson Deputy Superintendent @ Coeur d'Alene Public Schools

    Dr. Nelson is responsible for the instructional side of operations for Coeur d'Alene Schools, overseeing curriculum, federal programs, special education, and assessments. Named Idaho’s Milken National Educator in 2005, Nelson today works with educators to administer current and relevant assessments, foster student awareness and motivation, and promote progress toward district and state goals.

    Jones was recognized as Washington’s 2017 Teacher of the Year for her work leading Quincy’s Schoolwide Enrichment and Highly Capable Programs. She has expanded the identification of HiCap to provide opportunities to more students in her 90% Latino district and advocated for family-focused collaborations. Jones is an ASCD Emerging Leader and a contributor to the Education Post and other outlets.
