Solar Media invites you to their event

Designed for success: Bifacial PV power plants built to last and to provide lowest LCoE

About this event

Bifacial PV modules will be the dominant solar PV technology globally within one or two years; in the utility-scale sector, their market share is already above 70%. This webinar will provide a clear view on the successful implementation of bifacial technology, maximising system performance and minimising LCoE.

There are certain specific challenges associated with bifacial technology. One of these involves calculating the additional power output from the module’s rear side, which is far more complex than calculating the front side power, due to influencing factors including ground albedo, mounting method and inter-row distancing. Another question is how to optimise mounting techniques and structures for the best rear side energy yield: Shading from the mounting structure has to be avoided, and there is an optimum mounting height above the ground.

Starting with the basic principles of this technology, we will take a closer look at the impact of bifaciality on key system components: Modules, mounting systems (including trackers) and inverters. Moreover, we will discuss a set of best practice guidelines for PV system design incorporating bifacial technology. Finally, we will share with the audience data from real test projects and case studies from Europe and other parts of the world as proof of concept for this technology.

The audience for this webinar will be provided with comprehensive background information and further insights on bifacial technology from an educational point of view, and they will obtain real data from an LCoE perspective in order to be able to make a better assessment of bifacial projects.

Trina Solar, as a market-leading provider of bifacial modules, compatible trackers and mounting systems, will provide a comprehensive view of bifacial technology from different perspectives.
