We are seeing rapid growth in the use of energy storage systems to help integrate renewable energy, balance the electricity grid and to enhance energy security all over the world.
This is only set to increase, with commitments toward renewable energy adoption coming from nations and corporations. The European Union has recognised the important role energy storage can play in adding flexibility and reducing the curtailment of solar PV and wind.
While the business case for battery energy storage system (BESS) technology often begins with ancillary services, as markets evolve, other applications will become more and more important in the BESS asset revenue stack.
In this webinar, experts will discuss evolution of the revenue stack for batteries in Europe. Our speakers are directly involved in building a business case and optimising income on the market, maximising revenues for energy storage assets.
Taking part are Clean Horizon, an energy storage consultancy that helps build an optimal business case for storage, applying its simulation tool COSMOS, and YUSO, which provides route-to-market and energy optimisation services to BESS assets, operating an energy platform to provide market access.

Michael obtained his Engineer’s degree at Mines ParisTech (France) and his Ph.D. at Stanford (USA). In 2009, he founded Clean Horizon, a consultancy entirely devoted to energy storage. Since its creation, Clean Horizon has confirmed its status as the only consultancy in the world specialized solely on energy storage and acting both as market analyst and a technical consultant.
Amine obtained his two Engineer’s degrees at Centrale Paris (France) and Imperial College London (UK). At Clean Horizon, he works mainly on the design of trading algorithms for COSMOS simulation tool that calculates revenues for storage and renewables projects.
Bart (Ir. Electrical Engineering, Ghent University) has over twenty years of experience in the energy sector. He led the trading activities of a Belgian utility company from the beginning of the market opening and he was more recently active in Switzerland with an international commodity trading company.
