Daniel Sherlock-Burke is Head of Asset Performance at Gore Street Capital, responsible for technical management and specification of their global fleet of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Daniel's team onboards new projects and ensures their successful performance. He has broad experience spanning multiple battery chemistries and projects, including technical and commercial management for one of the first to deliver frequency response in the UK, the first battery dispatched on the Balancing Mechanism and Gore Street's fleet since 2021. Daniel leverages broad experience to support due diligence process, specifications of new projects and continuous improvement of the fleet. He is well known in the industry for his leadership on battery safety, including roles as chair for the Energy Storage Health & Safety Governance Group for the UK (associated with DESNZ) and UK ESN's Safety, Sustainability and Supply Chain working group.
Andrew Sinclair, is a Chartered Insurance Broker (ACII), has had a career in insurance for 36 years having had several roles within insurers and insurance brokers in underwriting, broking in management and client servicing. Specialising for the last 7 yrs in renewable energy. He advised on and arranged cover for some of the earliest battery storage projects in the UK. He works with investment managers/asset managers of a number of renewable energy investment funds as well as developers and owner operators. He has 3 children and in his spare time is a keen cyclist and enjoys riding his motorbike.
Dr. Kai-Philipp Kairies is co-founder and CEO of ACCURE Battery Intelligence, a leading provider of solutions to manage battery safety, performance, and health for electric vehicles, energy storage, and other industries. During more than 15 years working in the battery industry, Dr. Kairies co-authored some of the most-quoted analyses on the costs, benefits, and market potential of battery systems and consulted several governments on their battery adoption strategies. Before launching ACCURE in 2020, Dr. Kairies led Europe’s largest research group devoted to stationary battery systems and provided technical advice and consulting services to a variety of mobility and energy companies around the world. He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from RWTH Aachen University.
