This roundtable of experts will discuss the latest technologies being used to efficiently evaluate and train amateur and professional soccer players, including holistic athlete monitoring, AI-powered video analysis, and player tracking data that's increasingly accessible at all levels of the sport.
Victoire Cogevina is the CEO and co-founder of Gloria, changing the landscape of the soccer world by providing a space online where football fans and players can share content and interact with each other. On Gloria, users will be able to talk about their favorite players, teams and topics, easily find awesome football content to watch and share their skills and passion for the game from anywhere with the entire world. She currently serves as a United Nations Women speaker fighting for gender equality in soccer. She is also sharing her professional and advocacy experience with the Women in Sports Tech WIST team and fellows.
Daniel Guzman is entering his fourth season as Head Performance Coach at LAFC, a position he started following a year as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the U.S. Men's National Team. Previously, he was the lead S&C for another MLS club, LA Galaxy, and was a performance manager at EXOS.
Eddie Lewis is an ex-professional footballer and founder of TOCA Football. During his 14-year professional career, Eddie Lewis played extensively in both the United States and England, for Fulham, Leeds United, Derby County and Los Angeles Galaxy. He was also a veteran member of the United States national team throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s; he acquired 82 caps, scored 10 goals, and represented his country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Paul Neilson is Director of Performance at SkillCorner, a soccer data and analytics company providing services to teams, federations and media partners. An experienced soccer industry professional, Paul also holds Non-Executive Director roles specializing at the intersection of software, data, analysis and technology.
Bex Smith is former captain of the New Zealand women’s national team, with whom she participated in the World Cup and the Olympics, and was a UEFA Champions League winner with VfL Wolfsburg in 2013. A former star at Duke who later earned two master’s degrees, Smith later served as FIFA’s manager for all women’s age group World Cups. She currently oversees COPA90’s women’s football business, is a strategic advisor to injury intelligence company Zone7 and runs her own consultancy firm.
