NASCAR was one of the first major sports to return to live events, packing seven races into 11 days during the second half of May. And although fans are not in the stands, the virtual crowds continue to engage online. From esports to gamification, NASCAR has ambitious growth plans as it aims to satisfy its existing fan base while luring a new generation of fans who demand engaging and interactive digital content. Our panel will explore how technology is at the heart of these pivotal movements.

Peter Jung is the Senior Vice President of Marketing at NASCAR, and oversees the team responsible for developing consumer marketing campaigns, managing media assets and oversight of growth segment initiatives. Based in Charlotte, Peter's role is to support fan engagement, reinforce the strength of the NASCAR brand and help attract new fans to the sport. Pete spearheaded the first NASCAR rebranding initiative in nearly 40 years to refresh and reposition the NASCAR brand. Under his leadership, NASCAR has delivered award-winning marketing and advertising campaigns to promote the season launch, NASCAR Playoffs and other key initiatives for the sport.
Tim Clark is the Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, leading the operation of NASCAR’s digital platform including NASCAR.com, the NASCAR Mobile app, fantasy games, subscription products, UX and fan engagement. Clark is also responsible for managing the NASCAR eSports business and creating opportunities for fan engagement and driver development via strategic gaming partnerships. Under Clark’s leadership, NASCAR Digital Media introduced fans to emerging engagement platforms such as augmented reality, virtual reality and 360-degree video.
Matt Lederer is the Vice President of Branded Partnerships & Activation at Comcast. Matt has helped build the Xfinity brand through strong partnerships and presence in all passion segments, extending through the Olympics, NASCAR, gaming and music. He leads the development of strategies to leverage Comcast’s numerous partnerships, both national and regional, to enhance and promote the Xfinity brand.
