Let's have fun cooking in Harry's kitchen!

Join us as we cook up a storm in Harry's kitchen!

We're going to making a traditional bobotie, malva pudding and salad dressing.

BOBOTIE - enough for 4-6

  • 30 ml sunflower oil
  • 2 white onions peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon medium curry powder
  • 600 g lean beef mince
  • 1 slice white bread
  • 250 m milk
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 22. ml white wine vinegar
  • 1 cup seedless raisins
  • 30 ml chutney (hot)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 medium eggs

MALVA PUDDING

  • 180 g sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 heaped tablespoon apricot jam
  • 150 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 x tablespoon butter
  • 1 x tablespoon vinegar1⁄3
  • 1 x cup milk

FOR THE MALVA SAUCE

  • 200 ml fresh cream
  • 100 g butter
  • 90 ml hot water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • Serve with Vanilla ice cream or custard 

SALAD DRESSING RECIPE

  • Salad greens, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, feta ( whatever your salad veggie preference)
  • ½ cup cranberry juice or any berry juice
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • A zig zag drizzle of balsamic crema or balsamic vinegar
  • A drizzle of honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
