About this event
At TeamSnap, one of our missions is to enhance kids' lives by enabling participation in sports. We strive to provide parents, coaches, players, and organizations with the technology to provide better experiences, while serving as a resource and thought leader within the world of youth sports.
Sports have the power to boost mental health in young people – and coaches and parents alike play a role. However, a study from Psychiatric Times suggests that nearly 68% of youth athletes still struggle with mental health.
In December, we’ll be hosting a webinar with Sean Jensen from the Winning Isn’t Everything Podcast to discuss tangible solutions to help youth athletes navigate the world of mental health in youth sports. He’ll bring together an accomplished panel of sports and mental health experts, including Dr. Wendy Borlabi, a high-performance coach for the Chicago Bulls and founder of Borlabi Consulting, a performance psychology firm, along with Kelsey King, a Mental Performance Coach who recently retired after capping her brilliant hockey career with an NCAA championship at Ohio State.
With this webinar, we aim to further facilitate the discussion around mental health pressures faced by young athletes and their families.
TeamSnap is proud to continue the mission of providing our coaches and parents with greater knowledge of common topics surrounding mental health, allowing them to support their athletes in not just their physical skills but also their mental preparedness.
Hosted by
Kelsey is a Mental Performance Coach who recently retired after capping her brilliant hockey career with an NCAA championship at Ohio State. She provides mental performance coaching to athletes looking to elevate their performance by sharing life experiences that connect with their deepest struggles and empower them to break through self-imposed limitations. With a background of playing 5 years of Division I college hockey and experience with the USA Women's National and Collegiate Teams, she understands the paramount importance of mental skills for athletes.
Dr. Borlabi is currently working with the Chicago Bulls and is founder of Borlabi Consulting, a performance psychology firm. Also, she is an independent consultant with the National Basketball Association. She worked for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) at their training center in San Diego for six years (two Winter Olympic and one Summer Olympic Games). She co-founded Acumen Performance Group (APG) along with six current and ex-Navy SEALs. They developed a program that integrated the SEALs real-world experience and applied it in both the development and application of the high-performance concepts of seamless teamwork, mental toughness, and unwavering confidence.
I didn’t accomplish my first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth goals as a kid, but I did get into my No. 1 college choice, cover 2 Olympics and 16 NFL seasons, pen six books (and counting) and speak to thousands of sports-loving kids through assemblies, video chats and weekly podcasts.
The new TeamSnap for Business suite brings you everything you need to manage your club, programs, and teams in an integrated solution that your administrators, coaches, managers, and parents will love to use.
