About this event

If you are thinking about applying for the Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship program, here's a great opportunity to ask questions directly to four FAIT Fellows. Two panelsts are 2020 cohort fellows and two are 2021 cohort fellows. They will share their experiences and advice and answer your questions about the program!

  • Why they decided to pursue the FAIT Fellowship program
  • What was the most challenging part of the application process
  • What they did during their summer internships either domestically or abroad
  • What was their most memorable experience
  • Where will their first posts be and how are they preparing
  • What single most important tip they have for students applying for the program
  • And much more!

Here are the panelists:

Shirali Husan, born and raised in Urumqi, China, graduated cum laude from Norwich University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. As a 2020 FAIT Fellow, Shirali earned a Master of Science in Computer Science at Northeastern University. His first post is the U.S. Embassy Amman - Jordan.

Darius Michael, born in Saint Lucia, an Eastern Caribbean island, served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years, traveling to more than 30 countries. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus. As a 2020 FAIT Fellow, Darius earned a master’s degree in cyber intelligence and security from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. His first post is the U.S. Embassy Amman - Jordan.

Taylor Rainey, currently a 2021 cohort FAIT Fellow, is a California native with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Howard University. They will earn a master’s degree in information management cybersecurity from the University of California Berkeley in 2023.

Amy Zamy, currently a 2021 cohort FAIT Fellow, is a second-generation Haitian American woman who grew up in a culturally diverse community in Chicago, Illinois. Interested in international cybersecurity and cyber warfare, she is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Cyber Security at Maryville University in St. Louis. Amy is fluent in English, Korean, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. She will complete the FAIT Fellowship program in 2023.
