About this event
A panel of STIPDG alumni will discuss their internship experience and how it shaped their careers. Bring your questions about the program and where it leads! TWC staff will also share information about the 2023 application and program.
The Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG) seeks undergraduate, graduate, and law students for a fulfilling, paid 10-week summer internship. You’ll get a chance to build your network, develop new skills, and learn about open positions at the DOT. This program is a critical part of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) efforts to increase diverse representation in its workforce. Students from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
STIPDG interns must be enrolled, degree-seeking students. As an undergraduate student, you should be a rising junior or rising senior during your summer internship. As a graduate student, you should be enrolled in the fall 2023 semester; law students should be entering 2L or 3L in fall 2023.
STIPDG 2023 will be held in-person at Department of Transportation offices in Washington, D.C. and across the country. Your assignment to one of the DOT’s Operating Administrations is based on your major and geographic preference. Internships are located in Washington, D.C. and in regional DOT offices across the U.S. Round-trip airfare and fully furnished housing will be provided if you live more than 50 miles from your assigned internship location. Read more about this opportunity at the STIPDG website.
