About this event
Community Colleges for International Development (CCID) hosts this one-hour webinar featuring speakers from the U.S. Department of State and the Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship program.
The FAIT Fellowship, a two-year program funded by the U.S. Department of State, is a path to a career in the Foreign Service for students in IT-related degree programs.
Community college students are well-positioned to apply for the FAIT Fellowship, because this program provides up to $75,000 in academic funding total for their junior and senior years of their bachelor's degree program. Plus, FAIT Fellows get two summer internships (with stipends), professional development and mentorship. Upon successful completion of the program and the State Department requirements, FAIT Fellows receive an appointment in the Foreign Service as a full-time Information Management Specialist.
Through the FAIT Fellowship program, the State Department seeks to attract top technology talent to the Foreign Service that reflects the diversity of the United States. Women, members of minority groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and those with financial need, are all encouraged to apply.
