U.S. Botanic Garden invites you to their event

Eco-Printing with Flowers (Online Demonstration)

About this event

Join An to explore an exciting and approachable style of natural dyeing: eco-printing. In this online demonstration An will share a variety of plants and flowers that can be used for eco-printing, focusing on plants you can view on a visit to the U.S. Botanic Garden outdoor gardens. An will demonstrate eco-printing, in which plant matter is placed on top of fiber, bound, and then steamed, whereby color and form are transferred to the cloth. Finally, participants will learn about treating the fiber to keep color in place.
